Proposal for a default set of online radio stations

Ivan Zlatev
Currently Banshee ships with exactly zero predefined online radio
stations, which IMHO is bad. May be we could at least add the free
Di.FM and Sky.FM radio stations? Those include over 50 stations with a
large variety of genres. The full list of the stations is below [1].
What do you think?

What would be a good way to add a predefined list of stations? A xml
list embedded as a resource and imported into the DB on the first run
of the Radio extension?

It did ship with SomaFM stuff (and Dirty South IIRC). I was wondering why this was stopped...

We definitely should add back KUER (free, high-quality NPR).

Definitely something to add. Please comment on the existing bug report to keep all discussion in one place: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=548197.

I love electronica music and would like to hear more of it on the radio. Depeche Mode is my favorite band in this genre and is the most enduring and successful bands to have emerged during the 80s.

Great idea-it is easy to connect stations anyway but a region specific list would certainly be useful for new users...
